Microsoft #DoMore Campaign

Microsoft #DoMore Campaign

A few weeks ago, we set out for a day around Seattle, photographing a few entrepreneurs and go-getters in town who are doing new, inspiring things, in part with technology from Microsoft. The images appeared on Microsoft’s Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts over the past two weeks.

We started the day shooting Ben Klasky on the beaches of the Puget Sound. Ben runs a 255-acre outdoor learning center on Bainbridge island called IslandWood. It sounds like a truly incredible program and he spoke with great enthusiasm about the hands on work he gets to do with the youth in the program.

Next up, we worked with David Harris, who works with local nonprofit, Technology Access Foundation. TAF is a program that focuses students on STEM skills in order to prepare them for college and work in the real world.

Our last subject of the day was Robert Twomey, a true tech geek in the coolest sense of the phrase. His studio work involves tech-heavy artwork and robotics. He also uses an XBOX Kinect sensor for various 3D Mapping artworks.

These are truly inspiring people, all around. I’m always excited to see how far people can take the technology we currently have and how far they can push its limits, all while making a difference in the world.
